Rancom St. Studios Sydney

Prolific songwriter producer and studio owner Garth Porter is a self confessed gear junkie with a life long fascination with all aspects of the recording process,  having produced, played on and written hit songs in pop, rock and country genres in every decade from the 1970s till today. Garth has been awarded many gold and platinum albums as well as a swag of golden guitars. Some of his artists include:  Lee Kernaghan, Tania Kernaghan, Sara Storer, Gina Jeffreys, Colin Buchanan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Tom Curtain, Leo Sayer, Straalen McCallum, Jayne Denham and Markus Meier. Rancom St. Studios is the culmination of Garth's dream to build a studio with features that he found lacking at other studios – purpose designed for recording/mixing live bands, a comfortable atmosphere in a quiet location, convenient free car parking for clients, eye-line contact between all isolated acoustic spaces, real daylight visible from a large control room (view to a back yard with a big tree AND a Hills Hoist !) , a minutes walk to great food/coffee shops, outdoor tree shaded chill/eating area, and client comfort a high priority that includes a kitchen area, pool table, and client internet facility.

Multi-Award winning engineer Ted Howard has recording, mixing and mastering credits including: Yothu Yindi (ARIA engineer of the year award), Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers, Leo Sayer, The Church, Lee Kernaghan, Regular John, Troy Cassar-Daley, Sara Storer, John Williamson, The Flood, and many more. His training at Sydney's EMI Studios 301 and London's Battery Studios had him working with names like Jeff Beck, Black Sabbath, Billy aOcean, Malcolm Maclaren and Ruby Turner. "I've worked in many recording studios but Rancom St has that fat chunky tone that only great rooms and top of the line mic chains can help create. It's the best studio in town."
